Town Hall: Entrepreneurship & Innovation in 2020 with AmCham

The American Chamber of Commerce, AMCHAM, recently created a new Entrepreneurship & Innovation Initiative. Its mission is to engage and support you and other entrepreneurs to learn and grow; share knowledge about trends in innovation; and facilitate value creation between young, innovative businesses and larger, mature companies. On Tuesday, 7 April, the co-chairs of the initiative, Eddie Thai, General Partner, 500 Startups Vietnam, and Jonah Levey, CEO, Dreamplex, will host a town hall-style webinar aimed to identify the key topics, programming and initiatives they’ll focus on in 2020. Your participation will help ensure we pursue activities and produce events that our community needs. Our discussion will be led by business guru and #1 best-selling author Stephen Turban, who’s writing and research on entrepreneurship, organization and productivity has been published in Harvard Business Review, The Economist, BBC News, Freakonomics Radio, Washington Post, Bloomberg Press, PBS NewsHour, Inc, Quartz, Tech Republic, and the Times, among others. Besides leading the discussion, Stephen will also be sharing insights about entrepreneurship in Vietnam... the challenges and the promise!   About the speakers:
  • Stephen Turban is a Magna Cum Laude graduate of Harvard College, a McKinsey Boston & Beijing alum, and now a member of Fulbright University Vietnam's Office of the President. He is a best-selling author and widely published in both academic journals and popular press about topics like workplace productivity, entrepreneurship, and organizational behavior. Fun fact: Stephen is a social media influencer in China where he has over 150,000 followers.
  • Eddie Thai is the General Partner at 500 Startups Vietnam and a partner at 500 Startups globally. He focuses on startups targeting or entering the Vietnam market or leveraging great Vietnamese talent. He has previous experience working on strategy and finance for companies ranging from startups to Fortune 500 companies.
  • Jonah Levey is a serial entrepreneur, angel investor and advisor to web/mobile startups in SE Asia. He is CEO at Dreamplex. He’s also a board member of Mekong Capital, a Vietnam-focused private equity firm, and Galaxy M&E, one of Vietnam's largest media and entertainment groups. Jonah previously founded Navigos Group, including VietnamWorks.com, Vietnam's #1 job website, and Navigos Search, Vietnam’s largest executive search firm in 2002.
